Expungement

Expungement Lawyer • Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland

"Expungement" is the term often used for the process of sealing the official records of arrests or criminal convictions from an individual's record. Expungement offers individuals a "clean slate" by giving them the opportunity to put past criminal offenses or arrests behind them.

Leslie McAdoo Gordon played a key role in drafting and seeking the passage of the new D.C. expungement law. The law passed unanimously by the D.C. Council. The D.C. law allows for the sealing of records for arrests that did not result in a conviction and for some convictions if they are for certain misdemeanors.

Leslie McAdoo Gordon has handled expungement cases in Maryland for more than ten years. The Maryland law permits arrests and Probation Before Judgment (PBJ) cases to be expunged.

In Virginia, it is tougher to get records expunged, but it is still possible many times. Leslie McAdoo Gordon has experience with Virginia expungements and can help you determine if you can get your Virginia case expunged.
